Tom Kowalski touched the lives of many people during his short stay on earth. His passion for life was second only to his dedication to his friends and the charities that he supported. Tom organized his annual Christmas for the kids night at the Brewhaus Bar in Keego Harbor. Each year, Tom would pack the bar with friends, fans and celebrities to raise money for Team Joseph and Our Children’s Fund. Each year was more successful than the last. With Tom’s sudden passing in August of 2011, a group of Tom’s closest friends got together to keep the Christmas for the kids program together for “one more year”. The outpouring and generosity of the public was overwhelming. We had our biggest event ever!
After the Christmas event, we came to the conclusion that Tom had done too much good over the years to let his dedication die with him. To keep his memory alive, and to continue his dedication to charity, we have formed the Tom Kowalski Foundation and the Killer Cares giving program.
The "Board of Killer Cares" is a group of individuals that were very close to Tom, and that supported and participated in his generous charitable events. It was recognized by all of us that Tom was a special and unique individual with the stature of a mountain and a heart to match. We decided that his generosity and desire to help those in need not only be continued, but continued in his name. Tom’s legacy as a media sports icon is well settled. What is not as well known was his absolute passion to help others in need. The "Board of Killer Cares" will continue Tom’s most noble endeavors of helping all of those in need.
We hope that you will join us in keeping Tom’s memory and dedication to helping others alive.
